Regarding hair dryers, only those labeled with "100-250V, 50/60Hz" and with a power rating of less than 2000W can be used in countries with 220-250V power supply, such as in Europe. If the AC outlet of the adapter stops working, it is likely due to a blown fuse. You can replace the fuse by prying open the compartment at the bottom of the adapter.
Most laptops support dual voltage (with "100V-250V, 50/60HZ" printed on them), so you can use the VYLEE adapter to charge your laptop without the need for a voltage converter, even in a country with 220-240V power supply.
